30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 13
Favorite location from the movies?
The Hogwarts Grounds, as established in Prisoner of Azkaban. That movie set the tone for the rest of the series, and I just think the jaggedness of the landscape and really old feeling of the castle fit so well.

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 12
Least favorite character:
Cho Chang
And no, that’s not just the fangirl in me talking. I think Cho is so obnoxious. You dated Cedric Diggory for 6 months when you were 15. Yes, it’s sad that he died. But you date Harry Potter because you want to cry and talk about the moment when Cedric Diggory died? That’s messed up. Also, she had terrible friends. Marietta? Failure. Cho was...

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 11
Is there a character you didn’t like in the books, but loved in the movies or vice-versa?
As I’ve mentioned previously, I liked Hermione way better in the books than in the movies. She just isn’t the written character on film.
Also though, I like Draco a lot better in the movies, mostly due to Tom Felton’s acting. I think he brings such depth to Draco, especially in...

Dr. Spencer edition.
Please imagine these things being said by a sardonic English man. Who teaches a class on Weimar and the Third Reich in the arts. Collection over the past 5 weeks
“‘I can do that!’ No, you couldn’t, and you didn’t.”
“Journey? God damn.”
“Fuckin’ Phil Collins. He’s the reason for much of the evil in the...
30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 10
The cloak, the wand, or the stone?
I would definitely choose the cloak of invisibility. The most practical choice as well as the least threatening, I honestly think that the cloak would be the best choice. I don’t want to kill anyone (or rob Dumbledore’s grave) to get the Elder Wand, nor do I want to deal with the responsibility of it once I had it. I wouldn’t want to tempt...
30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 9
What would be your favorite class at Hogwarts?
Defense against the Dark Arts. Obviously. With Remus Lupin as a favorite character, how could I say anything else? Also, it’s kind of strange how effective of a DADA teacher Barty Crouch, Jr. was. Just sayin’.
Also, also, I would probably love History of Magic if it were taught by someone else. Professor Binns? Gosh.

Tim edition.
These are all just from one lecture on WWI. Please imagine these with a cute German accent.
“Don’t mess with the Russians unless you’ve got really warm boots.”
“They basically got to Moscow, but then the Russians burned Moscow down! The Russians are so hardcore!”
“MAN POWER beyond you WILDEST dreams.”
“Let’s talk...
30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 8
Anything you’d change in the epilogue:
The children’s names. Primarily Ron and Hermione’s kids. Rose and Hugo? Prison. The Weasleys and family had such awesome names! Molly’s brothers? Gideon and Fabian Prewett! RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME! Also, Albus Severus is a little intense. And naming two of your children after your parents? Also a little intense.
Also, I know...

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 7
Favorite Movie:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I thought this movie was just excellent. Sure, there were flaws. Whatever. The Dumbledore/Voldemort battle scene in the Ministry of Magic was AMAZING in theaters. I should know, I saw it three times in 24 hours.
LET IT BE KNOWN, THOUGH, that I hate Cho Chang. We’ll get to that later.
30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 6
By the way, I tried to post this 3 times last night. It didn’t work. FFFFUUUUU…. One of your favorite quotes:
“Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right, and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort.” - Albus Dumbledore,Harry Potter and the Goblet...

side note.
I’m currently dressed up as a werewolf for a Halloween party.
30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 5
Which one of the deaths did you have the hardest time with?
This question is too easy. The most upsetting death for me was Albus Dumbledore’s in Half-Blood Prince. As I previously mentioned, Dumbledore is one of my absolute favorite characters, and he just was played such and integral role in the development of the story in that book.
The book came out in July of 2005, about a month...
30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 4
I know you love them all, but list all of the books in order from favorite to least favorite:
The first and the last are easy, but the middle… (1 being favorite, 7 being least.)
1. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 4. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 5. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix...
on a completely non-Harry Potter note...
30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 3
Favorite villain and why: Professor Severus Snape.
Pretty much one of the most important characters in the series. Once I read the end of Deathly Hallows, I couldn’t help but soften towards this character. I never truly hated Snape, and I didn’t think he killed Dumbledore for malicious reasons. My dad actually had a theory about Dumbledore having a horcrux, but that’s a...

30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 2
Did it take you a while before you got into the series, or did you immediately fall in love? My mom loves this story. I could read since kindergarten, but I still enjoyed having my mom read to me at night. In third grade, she started reading Harry Potter to me. She instilled correct pronunciation of Hermione’s name from the start. But after a while, and this broke her heart, I requested that...

I know this quality is not so good. But seriously, it’s the Great Hall at Christchurch College in Oxford. AKA the inspiration for Hogwarts’ Great Hall. And I’ve been there. That is all.
Day 1 Post Script
Honorable mentions:
Dobby Molly Weasley (side note, Percy named his eldest daughter after his mum.) Hermione Jean Granger (in the books. I’m not so much a fan of how she’s depicted in the movies, although I love Emma Watson. It’s just not the real Hermione.)
30 Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 1
Top 3 Favorite Characters & Why: 1. Remus John Lupin What a badass. If you know me, you know Lupin is my favorite Harry Potter character. I respect him as an excellent teacher and a role model for his students. He was also the most level-headed of the Marauders (I hate Sirius, let’s not discuss.) and a big part of Prisoner of Azkaban, which is my favorite book. All in all, a wonderful...
